yes in most democratic countries they can,but the thing is most of people just won't vote for them. and that is what i don't understand?we already know they have more brains then us,they aren't as corruped as men so why not give them a chance,i guess people still see them as that maternal stay at home figure,but women are getting more and more independent theese days and sooner or later hopefully it will happen

I was just reacting to your statement that "women can't be president". "Can't" and "Can't get enough votes" are very different things. I think we will see what the situation is like when Hillary steps up to the plate!

not being a catholic, i can't see me bothering to campaign for it as such - but it seems to me that the point of the despotism of catholicism is that you particularly don't question it. otherwise you would be, by definition, a protestant, which would definately not get you on the ladder to popedom. personally i am neither. my interest is purely aesthetic and performative. i think that since the point of being pope is to be right all the time i would be specially good at it, and theologically i think if you are a catholic you have to be able to accommodate contradiction in your life. therefore a female pope would offer a perfect contradiction.

well since no one is going to read my commentary on this photo, i can say pretty much anything, so here goes. first, JPII earned his resting place. he was a great Pope. now as for women being Popes, no. NO! i couldnt even begin to think about that. women have enough to do with running offices and businesses and men. women have the greatest gift in the world, they can create a human being. the Catholic Church has always respected the rights of women and has always defended them. you should read John Paul II's book on sex. yes SEX! its called, 'theology of the body'. and also clinton the bitch will never be president. give me a break. her husband disgraced this country and she went along for the ride. i cant talk about them because i cant stand either one of them. so im glad no one will see what i have written because all of you have finished with this site. i hate politics and politicians. i like bush because he went after the stinking terrorists and is not a pussy about war. next we should get iran and get rid of those jerks because eventually they will try to get rid of us. let the fbi and cia do their work.

JP2 came a long way to being one of the longest
Popes ever served the Catholic Church and the spreaded the gospel to the world.And He served with dignity,honesty and love.After He passed away He left no valueables to anyone and chose to be buried in a simple pine casket and a modest tomb.Hope his teachings will stay with us.
