If you call that urban decay, you haven't been to many american cities!!

des: 5th Feb 2006 - 19:49 GMT

yeah toronto is just soooooo hardcore, not to mention the driver vs courier incident.lol

kyuss: DECAY??!?!?! i've never seen cleaner streets!

jeeff: everything has decayed to sepia tone, i guess.

Steeker: 5th Feb 2006 - 21:06 GMT

uhmmm I live here and where's the decay in the pic's ???????

Kilgore Trout: 5th Feb 2006 - 21:41 GMT

Public Transportation is a good thing for Toronto. Lots of slate sky, concrete, asphalt, brick and steel...they took paradise and made a concrete jungle for sure. great art pic!

barakus: 5th Feb 2006 - 21:56 GMT

if you want decay why don't you take pictures of jane and finch

howard stern: 6th Feb 2006 - 01:25 GMT

you wanna talk decay, what about liz taylor's tits?

jed: it will be difficult to beat that one.

schatbot mission: 6th Feb 2006 - 05:19 GMT

kilgore, i wouldn't call toronto a paridise. At least not in the last hundred years. As far as URBAN decay, i dont see where it is. In terms of world decay I'd say good shot.

Gabber: 6th Feb 2006 - 17:36 GMT

Decay indeed. A street car plastered in advertising. The TTC raises our fare despite the fact that they nearly sell out their advertising inventory. Shouldn't the fares be part subsidized by the advertising sales? Opps, what am I thinking? That'd make sense.

Peter: 6th Feb 2006 - 17:39 GMT

anything with always floats my boat.

tex: how about africa?

jack: 6th Feb 2006 - 19:55 GMT

there used to be trolleys on mcdonald avenue and 86th street in brooklyn. and yes we used to hang on them for a free ride to coney island.

JWT: Does 86th Street cross McDonald Ave?

Harry?: That's home

jack: 7th Feb 2006 - 15:58 GMT

not entirely they run parrallel to each other but are connected at new utrecht ave and then again at ave x.

HAMMER 33: EVER DRIVEN A TROLLEY?

on the juice : 8th Feb 2006 - 01:34 GMT

HEY HAMMER NO I HAVE NOT.....EVER DRIVEN A STREET SWEEPER?.......
chris, new title: rocket hits bathurst st. bridge.

HAMMER 33: 9th Feb 2006 - 00:19 GMT

No juice, just many types of city bus here in hamilton, including trollys while we had them. Short sighted pols and bureacrats got rid of them in the late '80's

Chris Fuerth: 25th Feb 2006 - 00:46 GMT

Actually, although the "decay" itself is not visible in the picture, I was thinking of the Gardiner as decaying, in the 2 seconds I took to name the picture.

cam.E: omg this is sweet

hhello there i am enjoying a nice cup of korean coffee and petting my dog lilach right now p.s. i am korean

Rapunzel: 10th Mar 2006 - 15:50 GMT

You have no idea what "decay" is. Try travelling. As far as streetcars go, that looks just fine. P.S. to the Korean, I lived in Korea for almost 3 years, what's your interest in trams/streetcars??

Cameo: 11th Mar 2006 - 02:51 GMT

I live in the area... Sure there is a little spilled concrete on Bathurst street here and there... It's annoying to ride up there on my road bike. And sure, the windows in that old factory building are half broken glass and half borded up, but if it weren't for that building, hundreds of hollywood films would have had to find a different location for the "abandon warehouse" scene!

"Public Transportation is a good thing for Toronto. Lots of slate sky, concrete, asphalt, brick and steel...they took paradise and made a concrete jungle for sure."

Ok. Maybe Toronto's different but here in Seattle they used concrete, asphalt, brick and steel to pave over paradise for not only the busses, but the S.U.V.-s, the Hummers, the Range Rovers, the Mini-Vans, the Stretch Limos, the Saabs, the Volvos, the Hondas, the Volkswagons, and other things with combustible engines. So why single out Public Transportation as the culprit? (yeah I know there's a bus in the picture) Or did I misunderstand something?

Anyway. Urban Decay or not, it's a cool picture, I enjoyed it.

anon (localhost): 22nd Dec 2006 - 15:19 GMT

Want Decay, Go to the city Winston-Salem, in the USA.... oh man... thats brutal.. in the course of 5 min i was robbed, shot, laughed at and then pissed on by a homeless man while watching crack heads role cars into the local rivers..i am only jk... but it's pretty close..lol

love101: 3rd Feb 2007 - 22:07 GMT

this is more cleaner than most states in America

purves: 2nd Aug 2009 - 12:36 GMT

It's a shame that the Piedmont Triad was never as progressive as RTP when it comes to expansion. It's such a pretty part of the state of NC. While I am not a fan of the cookie cutter and fake mentality urban expansion has given- we still need jobs...
