here are pics of graffiti-embossed trucks from my hometown.
this is the first one i took a pic of. it's always parked in the same lot, same position. sometimes the gate is open and you can get up close.
i see her nearly every day. she never moves from her station on sixteenth street, lonely but hopeful. across the street is a lot full of immaculate moving vans: never touched with even a drop of errant paint. they think they have it all, but she's the one with stories to tell at the end of the day.
skert is a loud showoff, but she's found a good place to park: on a street of high-volume pastry bakeries: the breeze is scented with the unmistakable scent of twinkies.
someone must have thought: i know what goes well together! pachyderms and purple ice cream trucks! this boldness of vision is what makes our country great.
no more moving duties for this orange lady. now she's a home unto herself: of at least two people by the looks of things.
this bigfoot was elusive and mysterious, locked away behind chainlink and barbed wire.
we end with another shot of the same truck that began this series, taken one month later: she's been repainted by talentless ruffians, but she perseveres.
