go find the dog doody with the dubya flag stuck in it. it's by the canal

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Now, I'd enjoy seeing that!

elaine: 17th Jan 2006 - 16:55 GMT

jamie, i failed to grasp that you meant something temporary was 'afoot' that i should snag, and you failed to insist. i didn't even see it, and it most certainly isn't there any more. since you are the one who saw it, what you have to do is recreate it for us. the flag should be pretty easy, but people usually clean up their dog poo, so you may have to make the ultimate sacrifice...

Jamie: 17th Jan 2006 - 17:02 GMT

yes. i wasn't all that coherent was i. i think i saw it.

elaine: 17th Jan 2006 - 17:05 GMT

maybe you just imagined it really strongly.
i once hallucinated the word 'sheffield' on a bus going to ely - i was quite impressed with that, i often misread similar looking words, but that one was, well, not

Jamie: 17th Jan 2006 - 17:15 GMT

i could have imagined it. i was certanly in an odd place emotionally right then. but i dunno. i reckon it was real. most probably installed by wishy-washy student types. probably scumbags. art students i wager.

Jamie: 17th Jan 2006 - 17:16 GMT

ps. did you know that ely, having a cathedral, is technically a city?

Peter: 17th Jan 2006 - 18:23 GMT

jamie: i second elaine's suggestion for a recreation of the poop-flag...

GGP: 17th Jan 2006 - 20:06 GMT

someone should mass produce the tiny flags of the idiot child, so we can place them pertly on dog poops (of which there are plenty) here in bklyn. i really think we're on to something here!!

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 17th Jan 2006 - 20:09 GMT

I've got access to four fiery printers and I know a good place to get toothpicks.

GGP: the flag brigade lives!!

jethro: 18th Jan 2006 - 02:38 GMT

whats hin name? oh yes, Henry the VIII. he may have pissed on those old stones

Peter: 18th Jan 2006 - 04:06 GMT

look what i found!

jamie: 18th Jan 2006 - 09:50 GMT

that's it. that's fucking it. that's what i saw. poopflag ahoy!

elaine: 18th Jan 2006 - 19:12 GMT

i did know that ely is a city, the cathedral is good because it tells me when i have missed my turning, because you can see it for miles.
and well done on the poop flags. now jamie can rest easy.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 18th Jan 2006 - 19:15 GMT

Hey Peter, is that Homeland Security kicking in your door?

elaine: 18th Jan 2006 - 19:37 GMT

where would you get repatriated to if you were found to be unpatriotic enough? i think all the safely white americans who want to do their bit to protest should go into police stations and give themselves up, and list every unpatriotic thought and act they have ever ever had.
but that is the sort of thing i think.
i also think that my MP should give back his wages for the duration of time he is in Big Brother, which he is just now.
bah, humbug etc etc etc

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 18th Jan 2006 - 19:46 GMT

I'm saving up my pennies/cents to flee to New Zealand. They have Hobbits there. And really hot elves.

GGP: 18th Jan 2006 - 23:05 GMT

lovin' the flag right now!
(i'm saving my pennies for Canada--home of the free)

Jamie: 19th Jan 2006 - 09:54 GMT

I think it is mildly amusing the George Galloway is takin part in Celebrity Big Brother. I watched him watching Tracey Bingham (of baywatch fame) squeeze her breasts and run in slow motion across the house. He fucking loved it. Dirty old man.

elaine: 19th Jan 2006 - 12:26 GMT

he makes me mad. he talks a good lefty moral high ground, but he can't be doing anything for tower hamlets, not just because he is poncing about in big brother, but also because he is the 4th highest earner from private engagements in the house of commons.
meanwhile i think this may be the poorest borough in the country, and we could do with a little advocacy.
wakey wakey george.

kc: 19th Jan 2006 - 13:35 GMT

I hate seeing his face, even on poop. Poop dreck. Although it is a fine work from Peter. (I liked Elaine's originals, too.) Also, I like Elaine's ideas of mass visits to the police stations...although of course we think our unpatriotic thoughts are in fact patriotic, so it gets tricky. hmm.

elaine: 19th Jan 2006 - 15:16 GMT

well, of course your very unamericanism is in fact your americanism, and in visiting the police stations to clog things up and to mess up the frankly fascist patriot act you would be protecting other americans who have to be super-american to be allowed to be the americans you demonstrate that you are by being critical...
it is a little complex.
before we had similar legislation i used to boast proudly that the immediate characteristic of having become english was that you could start complaining about whatever, bloody traffic, bloody royal family, bloody labour party, the day you arrived on this soil. sadly we are sliding into a state of proto fascism before my very eyes.
