jack: peter you got the choo choo train in the photo.

Peter: that was the entire point, jack ;)

jack: oh

jack: 9th Jan 2006 - 04:02 GMT

hello train,
why hello tree, how are you today,
ok im ok i guess. lost all my leaves.
i see that tree, but dont worry, you will get new leaves soon.
yes, soon. then you can pass under and i can cool you off in my shade.
i can hardly wait. you know you can help the humans also!
why i never thought of that, shade for humans.
yes, then elaine can come over and take another photo of her legs.
elaine, yes elaine, do you think she'll let peter take her picture?
i dont think so, she is quite the lady these days.
perhaps she will let catherine do the photo.
nah, catherine is stuck somewhere between the chrysler building and empire state. but she made a trip on the ferry to staten island.
staten island?
yes, remember when they discovered it, they were sitting on the shore in brooklyn and the surveyor asked his recorder what island that was over there, and the recorder said,"is that an island" and the surveyor said thats it, staten island.
oh, i like that story train, come back and we can talk tomorrow.
ok, bye.

looks exactly like liberty city in gtaIII.
what does it say that after so many years, that's still my immediate and strongest impression?

Peter: 9th Jan 2006 - 17:00 GMT

Excellent picute. I lived right next door from the station at 604 Park place for the first 8 years of my life in Brooklyn. That was from 1962 til 1970. Awesome memories of playing ball in the back yard, the clubhouse built by some of my friends in the building.

Esther Herschman (Rechtschafner): 2nd Nov 2008 - 16:20 GMT

I remember some kind of a chicken farm near the station. Do any of you? Thie was in the 1950's and erly 1960's.

Rich: 7th Dec 2008 - 00:48 GMT

This post goes to show that old-time Brooklynites are the most nostalgic. Somebody posts a photo of an elevated subway train and suddenly everybody is getting in touch and catching up with old friends.

eileen camara: 30th Nov 2009 - 03:24 GMT

are you an old time brooklynite? i have been trying to connect with others for some time now

Bhan: 30th Nov 2009 - 03:40 GMT

No, sorry, I'm not. But I'm curious about how you all lost touch and move out of Brooklyn in the first place. What's your story?
