This is John's Grocery in Iowa City, Iowa. I am a long time lurker who is just now posting for the first time, since Iowa is so underrepresented here. I hope you like it. I will try to post some more soon.

I'd like to see more Iowa. Looks pretty. Do you know why the windows on the ground floor are bricked up?

The windows are bricked over because that's where their equipment and cold-storage is, I would imagine. The walls have been retro-fitted with insulation and are too thick and utilitarian in their current role to hold windows.
Captain Kirk's Wikipedia entry indicates that he is, in fact, from Iowa, perhaps a town caled Riverside.
William Shatner's hometown, however, appears to be Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a world away from Iowa, I'd assume, though I've never been to Canada, or really spend much time outside of Iowa itself, now that I look back at my life.
