Too right you win! But do you have Senor Clang smashing the rust off his fire escape with a hammer for five days? Do Russians sit on your steps and scream at hard-of-hearing friends over the phone at 4am? And do any little girls drop water balloons on you from 5th floor windows. I think not. Now you're jealous... aren't you?

elaine: 4th Jan 2006 - 16:21 GMT

i get the water balloons, but i could live without them

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Nice view of Santa tubes.

elaine: 5th Jan 2006 - 18:10 GMT

starlings sit inside there tweeping. also sometimes magpies stand around on the roof, and scratch around in the guttering retching up their booty

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 5th Jan 2006 - 18:21 GMT

I'm not sure how you knew that I was reading this and eating split pea soup, but the 'retching up their booty' nearly made me do the same.
It is nice to have such a good view of our little feathered puking friends.

elaine: 5th Jan 2006 - 18:41 GMT

erm, sorry about that.
magpies do, however, pack their little beaks when the opportunity arises, and retch it back up again in their secret hidey holes. also, don't read this if you are still eating ...they eat dog shit.
i have one that comes to eat at the diner on my kitchen window ledge. i give him bacon rind. i like to think he loves me

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 5th Jan 2006 - 19:33 GMT

Bacon rind is the offering of true love. I wonder how much nutrition is in dog shit? (It's ok, I'm dome eating)

elaine: 5th Jan 2006 - 20:20 GMT

i don't know, but my feeling is that they wouldn't bother eating it if there wasn't something good in it for them.
i also slather bird seed in bacon fat when i am done grilling.
happy little birdies!
and i'm not even a brunette!

jack: 6th Jan 2006 - 16:01 GMT

i wish i were a brunette. i used to be a brunette. i want to be a brunette. thats hair im talking about.
