Now these are christmas lights without the santa shapes.

Laura : I love the second one.

Peter: 1st Jan 2006 - 21:08 GMT

wow, jamie, these are really good! love the lighting... esp the second one...

Jamie: 2nd Jan 2006 - 14:09 GMT

Thanks for all the comments. I've been having a bit of luck with my little camera lately. I've got takin long exposures without a tripod down to a fine art

elaine: that'll be fifty quid for that advice!

elaine: 3rd Jan 2006 - 13:36 GMT

wait! without ??? WITHOUT??
so what is your secret? you have learned not to breathe?

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 3rd Jan 2006 - 13:53 GMT

With such steady hands you should be a neurosurgeon. Or a barman.

Jamie: 4th Jan 2006 - 17:33 GMT

Yeah without. They don't always come out as good as this, and what soetimes looks like a nice crisp shot on the lcd turns out to be less so in real life. The technique does indeed involves a certain amount of breath holding, crouching on one knee and using the other to steady the camera, or preferably using a wall/bench/bin for support. shooting through windows often achieves good results as the camera lens can be butted up against the glass to provide optimum stability. A tripod would be handy though.
