its funny, i cant stand graff it makes me think of the downfall of art. yet if these so called artists would only use oils on a canvas it would probably look better.

Peter: 23rd Dec 2005 - 15:41 GMT

perhaps, jack, but art can be made with lots of things besides oils and canvas. just think... cameras, computers, musical instruments, film/video, coiture, dance, voice... and even spraypaint.

i appreciate and respect your sentiments and your tastes, but we all have to try to keep an open mind about defining what "art" is (especially here, especially in regards to , as its somewhat a pet-topic on citynoise, heh).

plus, im not sure that (as well as countless graffiti writers) would call themselves "artists", at least primarily. that might fall after many other adjectives theyd use to describe themselves.

but i guess we have to wait for them to jump into this argument before we have any conclusive evidence.

jack: 28th Dec 2005 - 15:32 GMT

yes your correct peter, but artists used their own material to create, these graffitti sprayers are using the private property of other people. how would anyone of us feel if they sprayed our garages, of course, it might make mine look better.

Nonplussed As Ever and Loving It:

So, its almost 11pm and I've been sitting out on my stoop for the past hour, just relaxing; I suppose some neighborhoods are better than others for stoop-relaxing, and it luckily happens that mine is one. I'm having a Chupa-Chups...
