these are amazing, aesthetically and for the philosophical invitation they provide. i love the lava flowing over the road. good perspective on the human project indeed! and beautiful to look at as well.

i really am tempted to ask about the first one, but i'll restrain myself. i like the lava flowing over the road too. i wish we had some lava flows around here to liven things up a bit.

Oh and I think the first pic is someone leaving an offering for Pele the Goddess of Fire. That crater used to be filled with Lava until sometime in the 1920's.
