i like your worker photos, i always did. i am glad you have posted some new ones, it's still a seriously underrepresented genre and a really particular kind of social document, as well as making for good viewing

I spent nearly an hour photographing the two men repairing the switching mechanism for the light-rail train. I felt that posture was appropriate because it was only a block or two from the (magnificently beautifully restored) Islamic Dawah Center. It fits in with my worker series -- my almost religious devotion to the technological infrastructure that powers our society. The people who build and repair devices like this really are our priests.

vz, after googling, I've seen and remembered several of his paintings, although I was not directly familiar with his name. Lately I've been thinking that maybe I should study 'art', at least, the accepted canon of work in fields that interest me, to give more perspective to the photographs I take. I guess my main influences are Sebastio Salgado and Henri Cartier-Bresson, but those are pretty obvious "big names" and just reflect my lack of depth of knowledge on artistic works.
