Hi all! Have just got back from spending a rainy weekend visiting a friend in Manchester. Here are some of the pic's.
Waiting for a Manchester MetroLink tram to Salford from St. Peters Square.

A bridge over the water at Salford Quays. This area is under massive redevelopment, I can probably make another post soon foucusing only on redevelopment photos!
The Lowry, a museum of work by the artist Lowry. (Salford Quays)
The amazing Imperial War Museum North building. (Salford Quays)
The big wheel in the city centre - I think errected just for Christmas as in many other UK cities this year.

wow, the lowry building looks like it's made of cardboard and duct-tape. nice set of photos, the last one, of the bigwheel is particuarly nice.

the city looks much larger, cleaner and modern that id imagined. id really love to see more photos, thats for sure...

Peter, my feelings were very similar, I thought it would be much more grimy and industrial feeling. But everywhere you look new buildings are going up, and what's more is most of these wonderful attractions were free. Transport was cheap as well, £2 for 7 days unlimited bus travel!
