Technically, when these photos were taken, this country was officially called Burma.

Favoutite quote: "The new name "Myanmar" has been recognized by the United Nations, but several countries, including the United Kingdom and Canada, sometimes refer to it as Burma"

Jamie, I considered that. I decided to use the original placenames in the titles, but the modern names in the "Location," so that any mapping scripts wouldn't break.

the reason canada (and i'm sure the uk too) still use the name 'burma' is to avoid giving legitimacy to the military junta which took over the territory, changed the country's name, and which remains one of the most repressive regimes in the world.

Ive not been to yongon but seen a lot of pictures and am sure its going to be on world TOURISM very soon.Its really beautiful with very nice people.It has to be brought to a real tourist destination.
