The engine of the propeller plane that didn't pitch us into the canyon (a huge recomendation).

elaine: that's not a city! you can't fool me

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 25th Nov 2005 - 17:16 GMT

true...true...not a city, but noisy with tourists....ok, so you caught me. But Condors! Real, live condors! I sent in tons of milk-bottle tops to Blue Peter to save these vultures.
Sigh...I'll keep to cities from now on.

elaine: wish i hadn't said anything now :-(

sir jimmy saville: god, don't roar about it

elaine: ...(...s o r r y...)...

Kato: 25th Nov 2005 - 18:15 GMT

Whose milk bottles were they, I didn't think you had milk as a child. Whose TV did you watch Blue Peter on when you lived in the cardboard box with no electricity or running water?
p.s. Beautiful imagages.

jeeff: 25th Nov 2005 - 18:30 GMT

adam: 25th Nov 2005 - 19:34 GMT

i loveddd the canyon.. my jaw dropped when i first got to the south rim and saw the canyon through the trees. it was totally a "what the fuck" moment.. i just wish the tourists wouldve shuttup

these pics are nice.. i wanna take the plane next time

barry: Lovely photos.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 26th Nov 2005 - 02:59 GMT

The Grand Canyon is amazing. Kudos to the people who hike into the canyon, but it's an astoundingly dangerous place. The plane was totally worth the money (and they rarely plummet from the sky). We took hundreds of photos.

Jeeff, don't worry about Kato being barmy. That's my mum. Hi mum!

elaine: heh, she sounds just like my mum

Kato: 26th Nov 2005 - 15:24 GMT

No it's not your Mum, it's your sibling Lhasa Apso, very intelligent dog. He's just waiting until he gets a camera. He's mastered sleeping and eating so next step is photography, no probs he's Tibetan.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: sigh...there goes my rep.

EvilGentleman: 5th Mar 2006 - 09:13 GMT

Awesome shots! I am especially impressed with the second one, where you can actually make out the feathers on the wingtips. Marvellous work!

I saw the Grand Canyon in 1989 and it was incredible, but unfortunately, I had been to Bryce Canyon, Utah the day before, which makes the Grand Canyon look like just a big hole in the ground by comparision. I spent just a single hour there, before moving on towards Las Vegas. It sort of reminded me of Chevy Chase in Vacation, where he looks at it, says how beautiful it is, then says, "Right! Let's go!"
