nice. that looks like a bit of a home from home for me, i would definitely want to go there next time i'm in NY

Peter: 16th Nov 2005 - 18:20 GMT

its only a few blocks away from the voo voo building. i love this part of town. id live there if it was a little less remote. it has easy subway access and all, but its mostly industrial/loft space without a ton of ammenities. like groceries within walking distance, etc.

but it sure ios a good place to go for a walk/bike ride/etc... :)

elaine: sounds like the east end 10 years ago

ian: 16th Nov 2005 - 20:48 GMT

The first picture has scary primary colors, like a Michael Graves building.

Laura : I love the orange bicycle.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 17th Nov 2005 - 00:42 GMT

I like the big red kisses in the first two pics. It's a love bridge. ah!

sally: 17th Nov 2005 - 18:07 GMT

after the ten rainy days in october, i went for a really nice ride through this neighborhood and fell in love with it. i have some friends that live on the west side of the canal in a renovated oil tank.

let's go for a ride soon!

Peter: yay! ok!

jeeff: 17th Nov 2005 - 18:56 GMT

jeeff: i was thinking hte same thing... heh. that sort of thing isnt unheard of around here. people will squat in just about anything that keeps the heat/rain/snow/rats off of you.

Jamie: 18th Nov 2005 - 16:59 GMT

That first photo looks like something outta disneyworld or perhaps universal studios. also: nice legs

image 6379

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 18th Nov 2005 - 17:04 GMT

Are they your legs, Peter?
Nice shoes.

Peter: yup, those are my legs, indeed.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 18th Nov 2005 - 17:47 GMT

I've been taking pictures of my feet/shoes for a while now. As I'm surreptitiously getting out my camera and turning off the flash, I lull onlookers into a false sense of security by taking a picture of my shoes. They just think I’m a freak who likes her own feet and they look away. That’s when I grab the candid shot and run away hooting.

Peter: 18th Nov 2005 - 18:11 GMT

feet on the crosstown bus... i guess ive had a few pairs of chucks over the years, heh...

marion: 7th Dec 2005 - 14:06 GMT

The Gowanus Canal was built with a tunnel connecting it to the bay, and pumps, to move out the industrial effluent and just general stagnant water. The pumps failed and hence the canal's I am told justifiable reputation for appalling stench. It seems to me that around '01-'02 the system was repaired, and people started talking about pleasure boating on the canal. Which to those of us who knew it then

Done ZFL : 17th May 2006 - 05:25 GMT

That's my hood we use to open up the pump on that block in the summer time cops never said a word there would be like 15 of us in the summer time havin fun the good old days gotta love it shut out to the South Brooklyn Hoods.
