Sometimes this odd notion passes through my head; and if i were to postulate on a scientific theory to back up my notion i would have to state my belief that time is donut shaped. This odd notion that everything, everything is predestined. Scripted. Fated. I suppose it isn't unusual for one to believe in the notion of fate. But it's a relatively new way of thinking for me.
It easy to recognise patterns in retrospect. Individuals seemingly drawn back into the same circles like flies to a bugzapper, magnets to a fridge door, fluff to a belly button. For better or worse. They say history repeats itself. They say this, these miscellaeneos people, beacause it is true. I'd like to think that we all have the power of free will, but i'm not sure as to what extent this is true. We make our own decisions in life. This much is true. But do we make these decisions under some sort of cosmic duress? I'm asking question which will never be answered, and perhaps these types of questions are the best ones to ask.
But back to the science bit. If time is shaped like a donut, then everything, everything has happened, is happening and will happen. We each make decisions good and bad, butterflies innocently flap their tiny wings, earthquakes kill millions, but each event causes a ripple effect, and as such the outcome of each event changes the script in it's own particular and perhaps seemingly insignificant way, thus cancelling itself out, negating the originating event or decision and ensuring the script continues to be followed.
Or i could just be drunk

I have a theory for time travel. It's based on the concept that what keeps us linked to this moment in time are the constant reminders that it's Monday, autumn, 21st century, lunchtime (as in, Time and again by Jack Finney). If you can put yourself into a light state of hypnosis, you can be anywhere you believe.
My theory takes a more "every man" approach. There are repetitive moments in your life that are linked, because you're doing exactly the same thing, such as being piss-drunk in the toilet at some nameless bar. How many times have you stood (or sat) there, slightly weaving, and your mind is completely blank? And for a moment, you don’t know where you are. I think that moment could be the crossover point, and you could transition to any other time in your life where you have been drunk, in a bathroom. You could stagger into the toilet in New York, 2005 and come out at a school disco, 1986. It may have happened, and we were too drunk to notice. Or maybe that’s what really what happens when you black out, the Time line protects itself by wiping your mind. So, there you have it. My theory for toilet time travel.

thats absolutely fascinating...
makes me think of last night when i awoke in the middle of the night on my living room sofa... being used to waking in my bed, i had a momentary disconnect, and had no idea where i was, as the window/door was in a different place (as it was a different room) and i had no idea what time it was.
it was profoundly confusing, if only for a fleeting moment.
