Balloonhedz: 26th Oct 2005 - 17:14 GMTtheyre still assigned to the F. Minus the blue stripe (cheaper that way) theyve been renumbered, had different controls put in, probably overhauled at some point since theyre almost 30 years old now. The brakes used to make a distinctive whistling sound when they were released. Balloonhedz: 27th Oct 2005 - 01:03 GMT*blinkblink*
jack: 27th Oct 2005 - 15:18 GMTthese are great. i traveled that train everyday when i lived in bklyn. it was called the sea beach line. i remember running down the ramp to get to surf ave to cross over and get a frank at guess what the name is of the frankfurter joint. nathans. people in their wet and sand filled bathing suits on line for a hot dog. i liked the gypsy ladies on the strip. they were hot and dirty. they would take you into their rooms and caress you and grab your body parts while a hand would slip out thru a hole in the wall and go for your wallet. those were the good old day's. the bawdy coney island. jack: 27th Oct 2005 - 15:20 GMTlisten, if you want to see coney island the way it was in the early fifties get a movie called, "the little fugitive" i was the same age as the kid in the movie and i lived within walking distance of coney. Balloonhedz: 27th Oct 2005 - 22:01 GMTactually I had my first Coney hot dog not at Nathans but the TA Employee luncheonette on the overpass. I used to ride with a Motorman on the F out of Jamaica as a buff. Jack~ Rich: 13th Nov 2008 - 22:47 GMTGreat photos, this was what I needed to see. You captured the pure essence of my trips to C.I. by train. Thank you, thank you and GOD Bless you. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
