brrrr. that looks such a cold morning, i can smell the moisture hanging in the air. these are a nice suite

Peter: 20th Oct 2005 - 16:10 GMT

paulg! wow, thanks a TON for sharing photos of your trip (in progress, no less!)... thats awesome. i love that last one, especially. you look like a man on a mission!

btw, for those of you who dont know, paulg bought a motorbike and up and left... to see america. germz.org/klr650 go paulg go!

you can (and should) donate to his "ride america fund" on that page, also.

Peter: 20th Oct 2005 - 16:11 GMT

oh, and more info/photos on his ride here:

Wow, i've aften felt the need to do a similar such thing. though in a vw camper van. and across europe. maybe - one day - i might just do it.

Peter: 20th Oct 2005 - 16:19 GMT

i think this sort of journey is a natural human urge. though i didnt get to meander as much as i would have liked, i drove across america in 2002, and it was great- i had always wanted to do that.

heres to doing it via motorbike, though... thats like 100x cooler.

Jamie: also: paul - have $5 from me

anas: 20th Oct 2005 - 16:23 GMT

So, at $2.50/gallon, on average, that's about two gallons. That motorbike probably gets about 75 miles/gallon, so that would add up to around 150 miles, I'd say. You can surely see alot in 150 miles of American randomness.

Have a few $$ on me, too, trekker!

jeeff: 20th Oct 2005 - 16:24 GMT

cool paul! that last photo is very . have fun living the dream!

elaine: road trips rule

Paul G: 20th Oct 2005 - 17:19 GMT

Thanks! You guys kick ass. $5 = 100 miles, roughly. Special thanks to Jamie for the first donation. I need to verify with Paypal now, ugh! I am the proto-technotard.

Raw pics above, re-sized (25%) with Paint program, only. Sorry for the clumpy/blocky pixelation.

And, elaine, I now believe every tale about the bone-chilling mists in the British Isles, and San Francisco - ref. Mark Twain.

Cool!

That is the most awesome bike. I hate those overly-masculine Harley types and the wannabe show-off sportsbikes.
