Located outside the fare controls on the north platform of the Times Square Shuttle, you can see one of the original mosiacs that were in place on Oct 27, 1904, opening day of the original 4 track IRT subway from the defunct City Hall stop to 145 St/Broadway. The current Shuttle stop at Times Square was originally a local stop prior to the building of the Lexington and 7th Avenue lines.
