Browsing articles by Jamie - [previous] :: [next]Following my failed expedition to Railworld I took a walk down London Road, skipped across the junction of Fletton Avenue and cut down a little footpath that runs alongside the Fletton Parkway. It's the sort of place you go to get raped and/or murdered. The reason i decided to go though, was to try and find the location of this article someone posted way back in February 2003. I caught some kids doing this...
They ran off as soon as they saw me coming which I thought was pretty funny. Some chav type dude almost ran me down on one of those annoying minibikes while i pondered my direction. Now; this is as good as it gets so far, but I had this feeling I was headed in the right direction so i carried on.
I walked for a pretty long way along the Parkway through thick undergrowth till i spotted something which seemed promising. It is the point at which the Parkway crosses over the railway lines and ane River. Unfortunately there is security fencing in the way as it is Railway property, so I had to take another route.
It was at this point the footpath became very overgrown. I decided to carry on though and fought through brambles, nettles and various other types of unfriendly vegetation. This area it seems at one point was set out as a series of interconnected nature walks. I mean, someone has gone to the trouble of building little wooden bridges over the meandering stream and the footpath is a proper tarmac one, not just dirt.
The footpath eventually terminated here. Underneath the railway bridge.
So i had a little look around, not much but tags and teenage gossip but then i spotted a gap in the security fencing. So i squeezed myself through it, climbed though a small gap and up onto the railway line.
And after walking a few hundered metres down the tracks i was there. No sign of Duplo here anymore though, but still worth the effort i reckon.
23 crew are quite prolific round here. They've put up loads of tags which i didn't bother to photograph as they're pretty generic and i'm no big fan of tags anyway. I really like the way the three in this has a sorta gumpy smile going on.
And on the way home i snapped another of 23 crew's bombs. This time on top of the Parkway bridge.
I have blisters the size of golfballs and more cuts, scratches and nettle rash than you could possibly imagine. I still reckon it was worth it though. Maybe i'll do it again next year. GARY: 8th Jul 2006 - 23:30 GMTSPOZES head is too far up his own ass he would know wot a gay fragboybelland suck his mum lil fraghole Spooky: 23rd Jul 2006 - 12:40 GMThaha. jamie mate, if you want to see the best graff in pbro dont go any further away than the train station. jump off the end of the platform going towards spalding if you've got the stones, and go have a look at under the bridges that cross the lines going in that direction. if not go down towrds porcelanosa up bourges boulevard and get thru the fence by mothercare. its a bit of a walk but its worth it when you get down there. at the very least grab a train to spalding and look out the window. far as i can see diner is the most talented writer around here. 23 crew get up like fuck, props to them for that but i havnt seen a decent piece yet. they have some decent throws if you go behind asda in the city centre and have a walk down the river, just keep going till you reach the boathouse, get a cold pint at the end. i dunno about ogc, to be honest i thought they were more into stealing mobile phones than getting up. prove me wrong tho! peeps shouldnt be beefing about this tho, pboros scene is too small for that. stop arguing and get boro looking beautiful. peace jamie: 29th Jul 2006 - 23:42 GMTi'll certainly consider taking a look around the station, but thats a risky place to be walking along he tracks considering the hefty financial penalties on offer. I assume you mean Kiddicare, the baby superstore rather than Mothercare as thats on Bridge street, and also i've seen the throws up along the river. Thanks for the tips though. riot: 7th Aug 2006 - 17:12 GMTas an old skool peterborough street artist from the 90's,and someone who has visited places like new york city to see street art, i would just like to thank the one up crew for placeing a few tag stickers on my vehicle. instead of doing wak tag shit like that, put your talents to something like taking up a graphic design course, designing your own caps/t-shirts etc for ebay etc etc......... i bet you didnt think you would ever, tag a graf artist did ya lol, hang on i probably know ya! tha RIOTous one. duplo one: 31st Oct 2006 - 12:57 GMTwhat do you mean,no duplo there anymore?you werent looking for me were you? diesel city: 17th Nov 2006 - 22:54 GMThaha hello riot. do you know the dcr boys? ive never heard of your name pop up before, ive met sum one a couple times though lol i ll tell him when i next see him. spooky you probally dont see the right 23 stuff because they dont put it on the net! check wordplay magazine or the y2sk8 parc for some of there walls. jamie, if you want to see some decent pboro graffiti, email me at theborosickness@hotmail.com and for those who dont know, check out the old diesel city site @ http://www.mydigitalsnaps.com/THESICKNESSELEMENTS/

It is dangerous. Don't do it kids. But this particular stretch of track has very wide 'sidings' if that's the right term. Gravelled areas to the sides of the tracks. You can walk all the way along the tracks in relative safety. Seriously though. Don't go on the tracks. Don't even think about it, and if you do, remember i told you not to. ok. gorden: 18th Mar 2008 - 21:25 GMTmate u should go round bretton and longthorpe coz i seen this guy taggin slim and rizla its some of the best tags ive ever seen some even better than diner. this guy slims thro up is fuckin sick rinse one: 16th May 2008 - 20:50 GMTwag1 gorden, guess who dis is :D bet youd neva thought id find u on ere lol catch u l8a bruv rinse: 16th May 2008 - 20:50 GMTwag1 gorden, guess who dis is :D bet youd neva thought id find u on ere lol catch u l8a bruv RINSE: 16th May 2008 - 20:50 GMTwag1 gorden, guess who dis is :D bet youd neva thought id find u on ere lol catch u l8a bruv
