note there are two people walking in front of the cars, even in this very busy street ( high st) and the pint of beer floral tribute. the first funeral i saw here was a horse drawn glass carriage affair, with black plumes on the horses heads. this is the old east end

i love the contrast of the white delivery trucks and the black hearses. this was a really interesting thing to snap some photos of. thanks.

also: the "pint of beer" flower arrangement... interesting, heh.

i nearly didn't - it's not really my usual thing, but it seemed churlish not to

"churlish not to" ? How about respectful not to? How would you feel if you were in the back of one of them cars, and some unknown person started taking photos?

elaine: 22nd Dec 2005 - 21:25 GMT

it's a good question, but certainly east end funerals are designed to be looked at. they are not the usual pace of things and the flowers are mental. i only wish i had pictures from the horse drawn one i saw once, it was literally awesome. black plumes on the horses, and a cut glass carriage for the coffin. beautiful
