Public Elevator

So, day off with a borrowed car meant localized travel. I got to check out the "city" of Oregon City. It was a strange place, quiet except for the sheer amount of bars and seemingly undriveable cars in front of them. It was a good place to shoot in the fading light, but I think this photo sums up the city.

There is a public elevator manned by the parks department for folks to access the top of the cliff over the clackamas river where some small businesses and private practice places are. Neato

March 18 2006,
The Elevator is not run by the parks department, or at least not Physicaly. The Elevator Operators are outsorced. They are from a private company that applies for a contract each year. The elevator is a unique and historic place. Great place to take to Kids or visitors or just for something relaxing to do. That the Elevator up the Bluff, walk along the Historicaly designated walkway to the Oregon City falls where electricity was first generated in Oregon. Oregon City is the City of Firsts in Oregon and on the West Coast.
By the way the traffic isn't bad as there are several ways to get to Oregon City.. I 205 to Oregon City BY pass and come into the City Fron the north is a good way. Down McLoughlin Blvd. through Gladstone, or From I5 to I 205 and take the Gladstone exit and come in from the SOuth side of the City.

Tuesday Afternoon

Tuesday afternoon, I got hit by a van while biking home. Ironically, it happened mere moments after writing this. The Story: Every day, I commute from 108th/B'way to 72nd/York via bike. I've biked almost everywhere in the city you can possibly...
