Egg and Cheese! Everything!

Several times a week, I stop at the Dunkin Donuts for a morning snack before work. It's across the street from my apartment building, so it's easy for me to pop in on the way to the parking garage.

Anyway, this place is like a factory. I mean, it's the same size as your typical suburban Dunkin Donuts, but this operation is a well-oiled machine. Think of a smiling Seinfeld soup Nazi.

Whenever I stop in, I always get the same thing: everything bagel with egg and cheese. It's the perfect breakfast. It's got protein (which I've been trying to eat a lot of lately, because I'm working out), and on days when I'm slightly hungover, the garlic and onion stink covers up any lingering alcohol odor.

The first time I stepped into this place I was a bit intimidated. If you don't know what you want when you reach the counter, they'll ask the next person in line. So the first time I fumbled a bit.

*looking at the menu* "Everything bagel please... with... um... egg and cheese." That's when I first heard it. The tiny Asian woman behind the counter screamed to the worker bees behind her, "EGG AND CHEESE, EVERYTHING!"

Within seconds, my order was in my hand. And when the little Asian lady handed me my food, she said something along the lines of, "Here ya go, Sweetie."

Soon, I learned to simply say, "Egg and cheese, everything." The lady would still yell it out, repeating my order to the people behind her. And she always handed me my order with a smile and a wink, "All set, Honey."

But now, they know me. This morning, for example, I walked in and waited in line for 20 seconds or so. Before I even reached the counter, the lady saw me.

She smiled and asked, "Egg and cheese, everything?"
"Yes, please. Thank you."
"EGG AND CHEESE, EVERYTHING!"

*I pay*
*She hands me my food*

"Have a good day, Handsome."

Perfect.
