C-town Grocery has just rearranged their store, and now the old meat cooler holds ten times more beer then they used to stock... I suppose my neighborhood really likes their beer selection. This article has been viewed 3038 times in the last 3 years GGP: 16th Aug 2005 - 17:25 GMTthis is a real thirst-quencher of a post! Peter: 16th Aug 2005 - 17:32 GMTwell, their beer selection certainly outshines their produce, thats for sure! Peter: 16th Aug 2005 - 17:50 GMTno doubt! i think its funny, too, that you can get cases of "steel reserve" there, too... that high-end malt liquor is like 10% alcohol. between the new beer aisle at c-town and the open-til-midnight liquor store on washington, im thinking our neighborhood is pretty lush-a-fied, heh. Deshant: 16th Aug 2005 - 19:09 GMTHigh Gravity Steel Reserve... Why is it called High Gravity? Because after six of these it feels like you dropped a metal brick in your pants. I also noticed the Danish FAXE. I used to be curious about why certain grocery stores had certain beers and not others (in Greenpoint, Brooklyn some places carry Kisz in East New York St. Ides in 16 oz. bottles) but then I asked my local Associated manager to carry Smithwick's and he said sure. Next week a whole assload of Smithwick's. Be sure to ask your grocer to stock Steel Reserve then try some jumping jacks JoeyD: 18th Aug 2005 - 03:51 GMTPoint of fact "High-Gravity" lager is 8.1% ....and aged a minimum of 28 days! I can be pretty "lush-a-fied" myself at times Mr Norway..: 30th Aug 2005 - 01:34 GMTI see all kinds of american beer on the picture... but no one from Norway he hehe... why? You should have beers like ringnes,calsberg.. muh better beer for you down there.. and it is less fat in the produckt, and with more alcohol % in it... Peter: 30th Aug 2005 - 13:33 GMTthey stock carlsberg. i buy it there often enough. very honestly, over 50% of that beer selection is german, danish and canadian. also: beer doesnt have fat in it, btw. Peter: 30th Sep 2005 - 13:52 GMTheh! yuengling is my fav, too... it was sort of hard to find in nyc for a bit, though no longer- thank goodness! jamie: 18th Oct 2005 - 21:24 GMTbring on the stella and bring on the becks Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
