Sunset in Viccy Park

- elaine - Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 : goo

i go to this park a lot, usually in the daytime. now that the long summer evenings are here i have been going after the heat of the day. it is really different than daytime in any weather - people on dates having intimate picnics or languidly sauntering along, beginner chi gung classes, geese grazing, illicit barbecuing. and maybe i am getting a bit better, too, as i seem to have some, just some energy in the evening to enjoy it too.

philip had come over in the afternoon and manically done my dishes for me. i fed him dinner and we went out. while he went for a pee in the bushes i took these. there is nothing time lapsey about them, it's all just about where i am standing. obviously, if i was choosing one it would be the one with the rosebush in the near corner, but i have put them all in to compare.

last time i was here at this time there were beautiful long shadows, but i would not have interrupted the being there to capture them.

Jamie: i like viccy park

Peter: 13th Jul 2005 - 13:35 GMT

whats up with that park? it looks so green, desolate, clean and rose-filled! it also looks huge, and without all the traffic barriers, signs, and official air that parks around here have. thats very cool. it looks rural.

also: i love how these photos are arranged... it reminds me of a quad-cam photograph... www.paramountzone.com/lomo.htm

it's the first public park. birth of leisure, innit. it is nice having such a big park nearby. the royal parks are all west of the city, and most green space is 'fields' or 'commons' which tend to be unlandscaped as they are where i could take my flock of animals to graze..

elaine: jamie, viccy park likes you too, it told me so

jamie: i miss victoria park im'a come back soon

get a wriggle on then! it's lovely this time of year, depending on the weather. went a cycle ride there - the long route via the benches - last sunday

jamie: 18th Oct 2005 - 14:10 GMT

wriggling as fast as poss, but have jack this weekend, moving in on monday, and will no doubt be waiting on for at least a week for all my new shit. but rest assured i have two whole weeks off work as of next monday.

elaine: cool as mince. i will get the kettle on, then

Viva Las Vegas, Part 1

Ok, when I say "Viva Las Vegas" I'm coming more from a Dead Kennedys angle with only a little bit of Elvis in there. Vegas might've been cool and glamorous in the Rat Pack days, but now it's pretty much...
