View from the Port Lands Bridge

i know this is going to break the page. sorry.

the big overgrown area to the right of the canal is the former site of toronto's "tent city",
a sprawling camp of homeless that was torn down a few years ago when the city and the
landlord (home depot) ganged up on the squatters. i wonder where they've all gone.

at the edge of tent city:

within the port lands there are smoke stacks and concrete factories, sewage treatment plants,
ships in drydock, recycling yards, things like that. but mostly the streets are lined with
long expanses of empty land - weeds and concrete patches. along the empty curb there's an old
derelict building here and there, standing square and bewildered like the last tooth in a
mouth full of empty gums. here's a facade from one:

we were drinking "upper canada", btw. a friend of mine, not aware of the higher alcohol content of this beer (over similar american lagers) had a few and started calling it ##Upper Canadia#.
