the first two might have been advertisements.. im not sure but the placement and the very obvious stencils promoting the new gorrilaz album that was just above them made me think the scene was scripted

the city is visually clean

aside from the fact that the border guard told me i was lucky to come back with my car in one piece, seems hondas tend to go missing up there. even if the lack of graf an trash makes the illusion of saftey in a big city possible

on the 'do not enter' sign, the shape drawn is supposed to be ontario. "do not enter ontario". westerners don't exactly love my home province. in fact, most other places in canada have a thing against ontario, because ontario is so populous and has such a big say in economic and political matters. other places (particularly the west and east coast) often feel overshadowed. i guess this rivalry is probably common in other countries.

BZZZP: 1st Jul 2005 - 16:11 GMT

ami retarded, then, for thinking it's a skull? i don't see ontario in that.

jeeff: 1st Jul 2005 - 16:18 GMT

i can see what you mean, but i'm pretty sure. the drawing is kind of half-assed. compare to this:

image 3211

Peter: hmm, i thought it was some sort of crazy skull!

elaine: i liked it being a skull better

BZZZP: 1st Jul 2005 - 20:29 GMT

it's official, ontario looks like that graphic from educational films and antacid commercials where particles are chewed up in magical cartoon xray vision and swallowed. still don't see skull. jaw, maybe, maybwe, with windsor and sartina as lower and upper incisors, and simcoa-lindsay axis as some molars, but no skull

The First two are not advertisements :)

the dark is a fairly well known street artist, you can see some of his other stuff on Granville St. Near Robsen on that empty donut shop. Stickers are becoming really popular at my school. Interesting talk on the skull!

Micah: 20th Feb 2006 - 19:42 GMT

It's clearly a skull. I'm sorry to add to the debate and not just let it go but I don't see how more than the lower-left of it remotely resembles Ontario.

jeeff: 20th Feb 2006 - 20:17 GMT

yeah you're probably right. disregard my conspiracy theory.

KP Bong: 31st May 2006 - 03:25 GMT

The Dark is certainly worth checking out. Here's another post about him:

and his Flickr page:

If you're in Vancouver, he's really worth looking for.
