Queen Streetcar & Sudden Exercise

With the sudden burst of motivation to walk the TTC has given me, I've been noticing things around the city now. Instead of reading from Dovercourt to Yonge, swaying with the streetcar nudging forward in morning Queen traffic, I'm walking to Shaw, and findining myself continuing on all the way to work.

My legs are sore, and I'm tinged red from the sun, but I keep finding interesting things I thought only existed on weekends.

i live about 5 houses off dovercourt. my old apartment was on shaw. why is the ttc motivating you to walk? or is it the weather?

michael: 22nd Jun 2005 - 13:43 GMT

The queen streetcar is shut down from Roncesvalles to Shaw until August for track repairs. I can cut through the train tracks to get to the king streetcar, but I don't much like King street.

jeeff: 22nd Jun 2005 - 14:34 GMT

oh right. i forgot about that. i rarely take the streetcar.

would one of you snap some photos of the streetcars there? ive seen a few in hool's shots. they look cool.

michael: 22nd Jun 2005 - 14:39 GMT

sure, I'll try and get some today on the end of this roll I have in.

Peter: word. that would be awesome!

nice photos. i like the streetcars. however, when i first moved here i tried to catch the college streetcar from an island stop and it just went right past. i was convinced that i didn't understand the "trick" of flagging a streetcar, so i avoided them for about a year until i learned that my earlier trouble was just a fluke.

Peter: 23rd Jun 2005 - 14:04 GMT

heh, thats pretty funny, jeeff... thsoe streetcars are really freaking cool, though, definitely!

the last pic is sweet, i think it describes the hustle and bustle, but the air conditioner shows the uniqueness of the city.
