nb: whoa that's hot. how did you do this?

jeeff: with my hands

jeeff: 6th Jun 2005 - 17:41 GMT

more in-depth answer:

i use a wacom graphics tablet to allow me to draw onto my computer. i use adobe photoshop, corel painter and alias sketchbook pro for various functions.

for reference, i use photos taken from my digital camera, as well as photos from images.google.com and in this case, hard copy reference from a book called the male and female figure in motion: 60 classic photographic sequences by eadweard muybridge (from the 1800's; quite famous and used by most classical animators for help with human motion).

but let me stress, what you see above was all done by hand in some way or another. there are no photographic pixels in this image. the characters aren't traced from a book, nor are they directly based on a single photograph. i'm an illustrator by trade.

jeeff: ps. thanks!

elaine: 6th Jun 2005 - 17:44 GMT

i have seen muybridge pics animated together, it was way cool

allforcarrie: looks like something from a gorillaz vid.
