"Ladies' Entrance" at the Cresson Inn in , PA near Philly.

I upped the brightness and contrast so the sign would show up a bit better in the picture. I actually like the effect that had on the background as well.

Nice photo. FYI, Manayunk isn't "near Philly" -- it's actually part of the city proper. Before 1990, Manayunk was a decaying industrial section of Philadelphia, not the upscale shopping enclave that it is today. As you probably know, the Cresson St. Inn is the only bar left from that period, which is why the sign in front reads "where the real 'yunkers drink."

yeah, it works for me, burning out the bright bit to see the dark bit - but did you do that after taking the picture? because if you did you could have salvaged more of the bright side if you had wanted to - not that you hadda because, like you say it isn't horrible and has it's own virtues

Hi, Yunker. I just moved here to Philly a couple of months ago, so I'm learning as I go. Thanks for the info.

You're right, Elaine. I it. I could've adjusted brightness and contrast a bit more evenly, but instead I adjusted the entire pic at once. I'm pretty happy with the result I guess.

kobe: cool!

Yeah.. main street used to have whore houses and shit on it. Manjunk was and has never been as sweet as it is now.

Cool. If you drive up Rt 1 towards NE Philly right around the home depo you got another one of those Ladies Entrances. Silk City on Spring Garden and 5th has one, too. Pretty funny. I wonder what would happen if I used it...

You've Probably Met Us...

It's a sweaty summer evening in the city and Eadie is restless as usual. Restless and irritable, but nothing out of the ordinary. What you must understand is Eadie MacFarland is a hormonal psycobitch. Fucked up on Tricyclen, but we...
