Much classroom talk and a sunny season later we went back to the Gas Works Park...

there were so many kites

the lack of trees or other veggies on the hill is due to the fact they could break the protective cap and release the toxic materials.

Peter: 23rd May 2005 - 13:08 GMT

did you get one that includes cityscape in the distance?

fuzzytank: 24th May 2005 - 00:47 GMT

i did like the first one where the top of the needle refernces the city, but looks like its just another visitor to the park

jeeff: 24th May 2005 - 05:45 GMT

this place looks great! it looks like something hayao miyazaki would create (studio ghibli). the robot from the roof of the ghibli museum in mitaka would fit right in the gasworks park. (it's the robot from nausicaa: castle in the sky)

i really hate spam but i guess if it weren't for spam i wouldn't have seen this.

hell yeah. gasworks is a cool . i did my first outdoor drinking in seattle there. i would've thought graffiti should be visible in the second shot but i think last i was there was 2004. and i think that mound even has a name, kite hill, which would make sense.

yeah these are great shots. if anyone ever visits seattle you can get a great view of the skyline across lake union from this park.
