The city can be tough on trees. This one casts a great shadow but the tree itself doesn't look so hot.

It's amazing how trees can grow around their own injuries, like sold liquid.

This one saddens me.

o I'm heartbroken! for their confinement, these native captives...
inspired by their defiance

elaine: 14th May 2005 - 07:12 GMT

sad in a way, but also very cool. the one where the chain fence has just been melted through is amazing...tree chi... this strikes me as less cruel than 'bred' trees where willow is introduced to make another kind oftree 'weep' - you can see struggle in those trees, whereas here it is more life despite, and a kind of acceptance.

GGP: 14th May 2005 - 12:37 GMT

Yes, and there is definitely some kind of message being transmitted about the symbiotic relationship between healing and going slow and time.

elaine: amen to that

So I'm looking at all these trees and the 1st thing that comes to me is..."A tree grows in Broklyn..." so them I check where the px were taken at ans ...well.whadda ya know...I don't know I guess with the title in mid these pix could be represntational of many things.....(Brookly itself, the people, resiliency...)Something to ponder.....

Peter: 1st Aug 2005 - 14:01 GMT

definitely representational of on so many levels... especially the shots from near the .

this is another one of those entries i seem to have missed the first time around- im glad i saw it now...

the -lock one is so strange...

Fantastic photos! I've never seen anything similar! Sad but strangely uplifting - survival of the fittest, I guess.

"sold liquid" - I guess you mean "solid liquid"? Great post, though.

GGP: 3rd Oct 2007 - 22:39 GMT
