Away from Cities

i've been "home" two weeks now, and the quietness is getting to me. i walk to find busy streets and congested intersections just to hear cars. a construction site next to a park should set me wrong, but i'm used to green spaces tempered with the reminders of what surrounds it.

it's a nice break but i want to get back to the noise.

inbetween places, usa

Living in the country is ok for a while. There are advantages. The air is clean, the rain is made of water, the crime is less violent, the people are small minded, service is slow, the people are slow, it smells funny

i want home

Jamie: 14th Mar 2005 - 22:23 GMT

I moved back home later that year. I now find myself, almost three years later, in rural settings once again. Am i destined to forever alternate between town and country? I feel no more at home here than i did back home or indeed in northern ireland. I do miss ireland though. Maybe it's just rose tinted nostalgia after all this time. I'm rambling now. I'll going to bed.

my friends lived on a small holding in north yorkshire for a while and i used to visit a lot. we would go to sheffield on day trips and get culture shock even after a few days. once we went to barnsley and there was this new bar boasting 'cappucino' and 'espresso', you know, proper coffe, like you might get in a real town, not mellow birds. so we ordered some. it was a mistake
