Hydro Corridor Bike Trails in Scarborough
Browsing articles by Michelle - [previous] :: [next]From http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/public-consultations/rinc_project2.htm: In July 2009 Transportation Services was awarded funding through the Recreation Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program to develop multi-use trails within hydro and rail corridors across the City. These projects will be managed as a joint initiative between Transportation Services, and Parks, Forestry & Recreation. The RInC funding received by Transportation Services will be used to develop new/upgraded multi-use trails. A total of seven multi-use trail projects will be developed within the Finch Hydro Corridor, Gatineau Hydro Corridor, CN Leaside and Scarborough Pit Spur (former rail corridors). This will add approximately 30 kilometers of new and 4 km of upgraded off-road bike trails to the City's Bikeway Network and represents the largest expansion of the City's trail system in a single year.
