I note the older piccy has telephone (formerly telegraph?) poles as well as better-looking hunks of Detroit iron. Even the busses looked better - though the 1960s GM New Look (Fishbowl) Bus
was pretty nice looking.

What do I see?
I see a whole lot of good-looking Detroit cars.... if they were built better, perhaps you would see more of thee sorts of cars on the road today.
Here, over time, I see a failure of the American Industrial Complex, which has led us to many of the problems the American Government is facing today.
It's sad.
