Toronto Criterium 2010

- Patrick - Saturday, June 5th, 2010 : goo

[previous] :: [next]

The Criterium is a yearly, high-speed bicycled race through the streets of the St. Lawrence District in downtown Toronto. I was a bit disappointed last year that I didn't get to witness any wipeouts but this year I got my money's worth (free to watch so even better).

The thing I especially like about the Criterium is that the oval track goes directly past a slew of pubs, cafes, and restaurants, so it's a terrific race from the spectator's perspective.

This year Team SpiderTech powered by Planet Energy (their official name), led by Andrew Randell, took the top 4 spots. I got to the race rather late and I thought that Andrew had already been lapped, that's how far ahead he was. In other words, I think they need stiffer competition for next year.

Zip and Dip

If you ever get a chance to do a zipline tour DO IT!! I thought it would be kinda hairy. You're going over these valleys on a cable that was 400 to 700 feet long and in some...
