Oh my god its my Grandparents old house on the ridgewood biorder, my pet parakeet Charlie is buried in the back of that yard by the pole.
It looks the same as 1965 only without the garden of Tomato plants and flowers

Dude, you should stop getting high on your rooftop, or you'll fall off!

Love the clotheslines; it used to be very common to see clothes hanging out in my neighborhood—so much so that it was called "the flag of the Lower East Side."

i love this picture, especially with the blossoms on the tree. it's like spring cleaning!

Urb_Banal: 6th Apr 2010 - 13:10 GMT

I love this. I remember when people used to always hang out laundry! For years you only saw it in old foreign films. I guess I am sentimental. But it seems like a sort of display, like prayer flags, our clothes being as much about who we are as our bodies...

good photo peter, it reminds me of the old brooklyn looking out my window. i remember a girl next door to me and she always hung out her undies, very sexy undies, i used to gaze upon them and imagine her in them, yes i was a bit horny at 15 so i eventually monogramed her name on my white briefs and hung them out on my mothers line and she was impressed, so we hung around one summer down at coney under the boardwalk. yes, those were the days my friend, i thought they'd never end.

i enjoy looking at pictures of places like Brooklyn because i live just thirty minutes south of Memphis and i'm not used to seeing things like this.

soooooo interesting!!

My family used to hang our laundry in Brooklyn in the 60's and 70's...now I live in Seattle and..well...it rains too much but a few days in the summer I do it just to remember!!!!
