Springfields: Mayday

- Jamie - Sunday, May 1st, 2005 : goo

[previous] :: [next]

The first day of ? With nothing better to do than milling around Springfields s on the day after the annual flower . Sort of on the way to visit my parents, this is the rough halfway point.

Motion comes this time of year
Summer rears his head
Browning skin whilst drinking beer
Winter doldrums dead

image 1238

Nights draw out and street lamps find
Less hours toil per day
Sun warmed bodies help unwind
April into May

image 1239

Lunch hours last an hour more
Saturated hues
Vibrant colours; Pinks and greens
Grass beneath new shoes

image 1240

Summer comes, but Summer goes
Colours turns to greys
Grasp the solace while it lasts
Months or weeks or days

Technically its only spring.. but this is Britain, you gotta be optimistic and grab it while it lasts. So it's summer yay!

elaine: 3rd May 2005 - 10:57 GMT

hasslehoff: 3rd May 2005 - 11:03 GMT

Hey, if the sun is out then its summer as far as i'm concerened. Its interesting to note how the national mood shifts so radically with the seasons.

Peter: 3rd May 2005 - 13:18 GMT

its teh same here. it takes several warm days in a row before people are willing to remove their scarves and hats and gloves... yay spring! its been coming here too lately... warming up but days full of spring rain, also.

Mahir: 3rd May 2005 - 14:46 GMT

I like the colors in the fishy picture. They are so vibrant, you must be have a very good camera equipment to take such vivid photographs. I like the feel of your photography very much here.

Walk This Way

friday morning, i was yanked from my too hot yet air conditioned office and given the cushiest summer student job available at the shell refinery: organizing photographs from the 1950s and 1960's onto a large display board and put other...
