The first mural is very beautiful! It is a beautiful mural. Last time I was in Philadelphia I went on a tour to see the murals. It was so surprising that murals were actually located in neighborhoods that looked like slums. Certainly, these neighborhoods were not slums long time ago, but now they are. The tour guide said that the people, who live in slums participated in painting the murals. Is the mural on your photo from the Mural Arts initiative?

the artist was in town as part of philagrafika, a festival celebrating printmaking. i doubt very much that these pieces were officially sanctioned.

chunkems: oh this is just lovely.

Euclase: These are really eerie yet very cool :-)

Irene: Those murals are amazing. ^_^

Skkkkkutler: Gosh, I love Swoon.

anon (ppp9-38.tis-dialog.ru): Cool!

So lovely, so desolate. The only people in any of these photos are the ones in the art. Lovely. I would like to see more or learn more about this.

Wonderful snaps! I know that part of Philly, there is a reason why there are no people in these snaps. LOL.

Her lines are gorgeous. It takes a lot of talent to make a print that large and get it evenly inked, and then to share it with the world, great!

Genny: 8th Dec 2010 - 21:01 GMT

Are these still standing? Where else are they besides 9th & germantown!!

Talysa: 18th Dec 2010 - 08:51 GMT

SWoon is a beautiful artist she takes the basics in life and make them have movement!

poprocks: Banksy who? I want to see more from Swoon.

Car Accident: BQE and Broadway

There was a nasty car accident on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway where it cuts through the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The wreck was really bad, but I was fascinated by the scene... usually highway wrecks like this don't happen right in...
