Roses Rejoice: 16th Feb 2010 - 03:10 GMTnice...glad to see this community spring back to life for a minute...i should take some pix of the stuff at the end of my street e_lips: 16th Feb 2010 - 03:16 GMTThe first mural is very beautiful! It is a beautiful mural. Last time I was in Philadelphia I went on a tour to see the murals. It was so surprising that murals were actually located in neighborhoods that looked like slums. Certainly, these neighborhoods were not slums long time ago, but now they are. The tour guide said that the people, who live in slums participated in painting the murals. Is the mural on your photo from the Mural Arts initiative? luna park: 16th Feb 2010 - 03:45 GMTthe artist was in town as part of philagrafika, a festival celebrating printmaking. i doubt very much that these pieces were officially sanctioned.
Chic: 17th Feb 2010 - 15:32 GMTSo lovely, so desolate. The only people in any of these photos are the ones in the art. Lovely. I would like to see more or learn more about this. Nicole: 17th Feb 2010 - 18:10 GMTWonderful snaps! I know that part of Philly, there is a reason why there are no people in these snaps. LOL. For anyone unfamiliar with SWOON or her work, look here:
Tami: 9th Nov 2010 - 19:45 GMTHer lines are gorgeous. It takes a lot of talent to make a print that large and get it evenly inked, and then to share it with the world, great! Genny: 8th Dec 2010 - 21:01 GMTAre these still standing? Where else are they besides 9th & germantown!! Talysa: 18th Dec 2010 - 08:51 GMTSWoon is a beautiful artist she takes the basics in life and make them have movement!
