T.C. Olga, Jan 2010 and Summer Pics

Here's a little tropical summer warmth for you poor souls suffering in the snow.

Take heart, it's not too pleasant here, either. 35 degree (95 fahrenheit) heat, 80 percent humidity makes it very unpleasant to be outdoors for any extended amount of time.

The rains from Tropical Cyclone Olga however did provide a reprieve from the heat for a week or so. Just a short wander from my place is a huge channel that drains the water from surrounding suburbs. I headed out in the height of the wind and rain and got these pics for your enjoyment.

^ This is our local football stadium. Behind it you can usually see part of the Great Dividing Range and a structure known as the Pinnacles. You can see them in the first picture of this post.

Then a few days later we were treated to an impressive sky show.

Half-Built Homes

I came across a small residential development that seems to have been abandoned half-constructed. Blame the economy. Abandoned long enough to get some graffiti Big empties Featuring nice views of Manhattan and Rikers Island, a power plant and a bit of Flushing Bay Almost...
